How I would recommend speeding up your PC would be to uninstall programs, fix registry problems, upgrade hardware, fix hard drive errors, defragment your registry and hard drive, edit your services to get rid of unimportant services, removing temporary files, and you can change your system theme if you want. That's just off the top of my head.

To speed up your computer just do theses things
1) START -> RUN -> "type in cleanmgr.exe" and let it do its things
2) START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> ACCESSORIES -> SYSTEM TOOLS -> DISK DEFRAG.
3) have fun
